#it’s sort of a blink and you’ll miss it moment #but i could talk about this scene forever #it’s not just that sherlock #a man who rarely considers the wants and needs of others outside of cases #knew that john would want his gun and therefore brought it out with him #it’s the way that john receives the gun #with an ‘oh’ and a small smile #he receives it like it’s a romantic gift and #in their own way #it is #these are two men who’ve swapped kisses and sex #all those things that seem to be indicative of relationship #for crime-scenes and midnight #for danger #a bunch of flowers is now a gun #but that’s how they live #they thrive on danger and they keep each other going #these are feelings they don’t consider love but which very much are #and they don’t need the romance because they have what they have and it’s all they want
